Just wanted to share a picture of the bedspread I made for Kylee ( with the help of my mom). It took a couple months but I only worked on it Sunday's when we went over there for dinner. I was very proud of myself for taking on this project. Now I know I am ready to take on more projects. Not sure what the next will be but it has been nice having my mom teach me how to sew. It was a big accomplishment for me and I am glad that it turned out! My mom also made a valance and the bumper pads. I will post pictures later as they would not attach with my blanket picture.

Olivia's Speech Evaluation
As most of you know Olivia had ear infections the first 15 months of her life. We became concerned when at 20 months she still had minimal words in her vocabulary and was not trying to put two words together. I had asked our pediatrician at an appointment and she said we could have an evaluation done if we wanted. Chris and I decided to wait until she was 2 to see if she had made some progress. At her 2 year appointment Dr. Taylor told us that since she did not have 50 words and her vocabulary and was not consistently putting 2 words together we should think about having an evaluation done. Well, today was evaluation day! I was both excited and a little nervous. For Olivia to qualify for speech she would have to be 4 months behind. The ladies from Keep Pace came over and Olivia was her normal busy self. She worked with them and showed them her "skills". As we figured, she did not qualify for outside speech therapy but the more I think about it the happier I am. From their information, they concluded that she is 25 months but her communication age is 24 months. So, as soon as the ladies left and Olivia went down for a nap we made a list of all of her words. We are now up to 78 and she is putting a lot of those words together. The ladies told us that if in 3 months she is not progressing anymore that they could come back and do an another evaluation. I know she is going to continue to put words together but it was reassuring for us to hear that she is doing a great job as are we. I know sometimes Chris and I worry that we are not doing what we need to and of course as a teacher I worry what I could do more of to help her. But, we are very proud of our toot and all the progress she has made in the past few weeks.
On another note, I had my last 2 week check up yesterday and Kylee is doing great! I am 33 weeks and 5 days and she is measuring at 35 weeks. I asked my doctor if that meant she would come early and she said no but we shall see. I was also very excited that I did not gain ANY weight in the past 2 weeks! My doctor has been making comments about my weight and when she saw I did not gain any weight she asked if I was eating. Hello??? I eat ALL the time! It was good to hear her heart beat and know that she is growing and moving the way she is supposed to. I feel very blessed to have 2 beautiful girls in my life and Chris too!
We have our family/ maternity pictures this weekend. Our last family of 3 pictures before we are a family of 4.

33 weeks and getting ready
I am now 33 weeks and Kylee could possibly be here in 5-6 weeks. I am getting very excited to meet her and of course see who she looks like (hoping that it is me!!) and seeing Olivia's reaction to her baby sister. My mom came over today and hung the curtains for Kylee's room. She made her a valance, pillow, and bumper pads to match the blanket I am making her. They turned out great and I can't wait to share the finished product. Olivia was too funny today while we were hanging curtains. I heard my mom laughing and looked in and Olivia was in the baby bouncy with a paci. She was so cute and it was hard to tell her that we only use the paci's at night time and the bouncy is for the baby. I know she will be a great big sister but I know it will be an adjustment for her as well.
I have my last 2 week appointment this Tuesday and then I start my weekly appointments. I can't believe it is already time. Dr. Gunn said at my last appointment that everything was looking great and my 3 hour glucose was normal. Thank goodness because it was horrible having to do that test!
I am trying to pack up most of my stuff at school before I leave. I never realized how much I had accumulated over the past 4 years and keep thinking of where I am going to store it. I am sure that Chris will find a place for it. I am excited about being home with the girls next year and I am already thinking of things we can do. We are going to get a mini moonwalk for the back yard to keep our litte monkey busy and to wear her out. Luckily, Jennie, Heidi and Brooke will be off this summer and we can hang out too. I am very excited to be a stay at home mom and very thankful for Chris!!! We are 3 lucky girls!!!

29 weeks and glucose test
I can't believe I am already 29 weeks! I guess when you have your second baby it goes by faster when you are chasing another wild monkey around. This baby girl is doing great! Her heart beat was 148 and she is moving around quite a bit. I also had my glucose test to see if I have gestational diabeties Tuesday. I was more prepared this time since I learned my lesson from Olivia. I did not eat any bread or pasta for 48 hours and it was harder than I thought. But, I made it and I have not heard from the doctors office so I am assuming that I passed and will not have to take the 3 hour test. THANK GOODNESS! We have moved the crib into Kylee's room and are waiting to get it painted before putting the crib back together and in the right place. I am getting a little nervous as to how I am going to take care of a new born and chase Olivia around the house and keep her busy. I am hoping she starts to settle down a little. Don't worry, I am not getting my hopes up. I am well aware my sweet little girl is a wild monkey!

Olivia's big girl bed!

Chris and I have been looking at bed sets and talking about transitioning her into a "big girl bed" before her sister comes. This bed is one that Gay, Chris' mom bought and Chris actually used when he broke both of his legs. So, there is a lot of memories that go along with this bed. She has been in her bed for almost a week and is doing great! I don't want to speak too soon but it has been a pretty easy transition. Now we just have to work on the potty training!! In this picture, she is jumping on the bed and yelling, "mine, mine, mine!" She loves her new bed and we are so excited that it was so easy and she is doing so well. The first night I think I woke up to check on her more than I usually do. I woke up one night around 2:15 and she was just sitting in the bed. Needless to say, I did not fall back asleep until she did at 3:40 worrying about her taking off the child door knob or messing with the covered outlets. Chris and I still can't believe our baby girl is growing up so fast. We feel like we just brought her home and had her in bed with us worrying about how she would sleep the first few nights. We are so very blessed to have such a sweet girl. She is a wild monkey but so very sweet and loving. Olivia will be a great big sister!!!

Trying to be more crafty
As most of you know my mom made many blankets and burp clothes for Olivia. I did not make anything for that poor baby. I have started to try to be more crafty and artsy for Olivia and now Kylee. I made Olivia a new bow holder since she has so many bows on her other how holder. I am attempting (with A LOT of my moms help) to make Kylee's bed spread and bumper pads. We are also getting ready to paint her room and put up the chair railing. We are hoping to get Olivia moved into a big girl bed by the time baby girl gets here even though she will be in our room for the first few months. Gay left a day bed with one of Chris' cousins and they told us about it at Christmas and we are going to pick it up Friday for Olivia. I am hoping it is an easy transititon but we shall see.
Our Christmas was such a blessing. We were able to spend time with all of our families and get to visit as much as we could while taking turns chasing Olivia around. She is such a busy bee! I am definetly ready for the day that we can sit as a family at someone else's house and eat dinner together. I feel so blessed to have a wonderful husband and beautiful daughter and one on the way. We are a very lucky family and God has given us so much to be thankful for.
I registered for the hospital the other day. It felt very surreal since I feel like we just found out we were expecting again. I go back for my first 3 week appointment January 11th and get to do the much dreaded glucose test. It is hard to believe that Kylee could be here in about 10-11 weeks if she comes early like Olivia. I have pulled some of the newborn clothes out and of course 3 months as well because we all know our babies are not small. I wonder if Kylee will look like me or Chris. Don't worry, I am not getting my hopes up that she will look like me ;) I am just looking forward to meeting her and Olivia realizing that she is a big sister. Right now, she thinks there is a baby in her belly as well. Yes, it is cute but I would like for her to realize there is going to be a change before it happens. We shall see.....

Kylee Update 25 weeks and 4 days
Time has passed so quickly this pregnancy. I will be 26 weeks this Friday and will be starting my 3 weeks appointments. Kylee is doing great and today her heart rate was 153 beats per minute. She was moving all around while the nurse was trying to find her heartbeat. Chris and I are wondering if Kylee is going to be as busy as Olivia is. If so, we will have 2 wild monkeys running around and one tired momma next year. But all well worth it to have 2 beautiful girls. I have my glucose test January 11th and my doctor made sure to tell me no bread or pasta! Thanks, I realized that after I had to take the 3 hour glucose test with Olivia. I learned my lesson for sure and will be eating chicken and salad for 2-3 days before the test.
Christmas is rapidly approaching and I am not at all ready! I never realized it would be hard to plan a birthday party and Christmas shop at the same time. I need to get used to it!! Olivia is getting to know who Santa is but not quite sure what he does. It is so much fun getting to do Christmas things with her. I am hoping next year we will get to make a gingerbread house. We have Skinner Christmas this Thursday, Charbonneau Christmas Friday and then Christmas day with my family. It will be a busy but fun 3 days. Chris is taking next week off and Olivia and I are excited to spend the week with him before I go back on the 3rd. It will be our rest and relaxing week before we get back to the grind.
We want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy 2011! May God bless you and your families!
