Olivia's Frist Illness

Well, a little over 2 years and Olivia has had her first illness. She started having a low grade fever Sunday night and into Monday morning. When she got up from her nap it was 100.2. I was worried because she has never had a fever that high. I called the nurse and she said it could be an ear infection or strep. I told her that she has tubes and that we had seen the ENT about a month ago and she said they were perfect so I didn't think it was an ear infection. So, Tuesday morning we went to the doctor, all 3 of us and found out Olivia has strep. Then I worried because Kylee is just barely a month and Olivia had been huging and kissing on Kylee. Dr. Taylor said that it is unlikely that she would get strep but to watch for a fever, vomiting or not eating. Olivia is starting to feel better thank goodness and is acting like her happy self again.

This is my second week at home with the girls and I am loving every minute! We have been to story time at the library, hanging out with friends and swim lessons. I am going to sign Olivia up for the little gym again this summer since we had so much fun last year. I am one lucky momma!!!

Our daughter the fish!

Olivia is obsessed with swimming! She stays in the pool even though her lips are purple from being cold. She started swim lessons last week and was so excited to go swim. She asked the entire way to swim lessons if daddy and doggie were going swimming. I told her that it was just her and she would be learning how to swim. Olivia has no fear! She got right in the pool and the instructor had to put a float around her waist because she went into the pool while the instructor was with the other student. I started to laugh because it was not at all surprising to me and the others girls dad just looked at me. I explained that this is why we put her in swim lessons. Olivia loves swimming with Chris and of course all the dogs. She is getting better about putting her head under, blowing bubbles and moving her arms and kicking her legs. She is truely a fish!

1 month already???

Hard to believe that 4 weeks ago today our second beautiful daughter was born! Kylee is such a blessing and we are all loving every minute with her. She loves sitting up and looking around at everything. Her neck is very strong and she can hold it up for a while before she falls over. She is not a big fan of being on her tummy but I try to put her on her tummy a few times a day to get used to it. She sleeps very good through the night only waking up once or twice during the night. Olivia LOVES hugging and kissing Kylee and is a big helper to me. I am enjoying being at home with both the girls and feel so lucky to get to stay at home.

Best Buddies!

                                                       Heidi, Brooke, Kylee & Olivia
Brooke 4 1/2 months, Kylee 3 1/2 weeks

Jennie, Robert and their girls came over to visit and have dinner.  I had to share these pictures because Jennie and I were going to trade clothes since Brooke was born in December and Heidi was in August. When I got closer I told her that I didn't think I would be able to trade clothes since I knew Kylee would be big. As you can tell, Kylee is not too much smaller length wise and  am sure not too far behind in weight. Olivia and Heidi are best buddies! They have so much fun playing together and get along very well. It is fun to have good friends with kids the same age.

Kylee's Newborn picturs

Here are a few pictures from Kylee's newborn shoot. It was quite an experience between keeping Olivia busy and Kylee happy and clean. Of course we had a few accidents so it took a lot of time to clean up and get new props. Kelly Garvey, our "family photographer" did a great job and was very patient with all of us!

No David!

I bought the "No David" book before I left school. I thought Olivia might like it since my students loved listening to it. It is not much of a book but I think it is the pictures that makes the book so enjoyable. Olivia LOVES reading the book. After we got home from the hospital she would run around the house yelling oh dammin which we thought she was saying "oh dammit". We couldn't stop laughing. My mom kept saying, "I did not teach her that when she stayed with us". I realized after reading the book again with her she was saying, "oh, Damin" or "oh, David". It is too cute and if I can get it on video I will have to figure out how to post it. It will make your day if you are having a tough one or need a good laugh. She is too cute and we love her!

We are excited to celebrate Easter this weekend. We will not be going to church this year due to Kylee only being 3 weeks old. But, we have plenty of festivities to attend. I have pictures that I will post from our Bridgeland Easter hunt and bunny pictures.

Here she is!

Our Family of Four!

Sisterly Love
We are pleased to announce that Kylee Ann Charbonneau joined our family Monday, April 4th at 9:33 a.m. She weighed 9 lbs 4 oz and was 21 1/4 inches long. I started to have contractions around 12:30 early Monday morning. I got out of bed and started timing them as they were stronger than what I had usually felt. At 2:15 I woke Chris up and told him it was time to go to the hospital. My parents came over right away to stay with Olivia and we flew down 45. By the time we left the house my contractions were 6 minutes apart. As we excited Old Spanish Trail they were 3 minutes apart. Chris dropped me off at the front of the hospital and went to park as there was not valet at 3:30 in the morning....go figure. I got to labor and delivery and funny enough we were put in the same room I delivered Olivia. It was really neat to me, I am not sure why but I was excited to be in that room all over again. As I got into the bed the nurse needed to check my progress. The last time I was at the doctor I was 2 centimeters, that morning I was at 5. Needless to say, I was in a lot of pain at that time and I asked the nurse right away when I could have the epidural. Of course, there was a LOT of paperwork she had to do and luckily another nurse started my IV so we could get that epidural quicker. Once the magical drug man came in I was a lot calmer and my blood pressure went down. My sister and Aunt Margaret got there around 4 a.m. and my parents and Bill and Emiko got there around 8. Tommy, Taryn and Katheen came later and I am glad our families were there to welcome our daughter. My doctor got came in around 9:00 to break my water and said "oh, you are ready to go." My mom quickly left to find everyone and let them know it was time. Chris and I were getting excited to meet Kylee and I was anxious to see who she looked like. Kylee came a lot faster than Olivia did and at 9:33 we met our second beautiful daughter. We are so very thankful that God has blessed us with our two beautiful daughters and are loving every minute we have had with them. Olivia is a great big sister and LOVES Kylee. When Kylee cries, Olivia askes if she is okay and will run and make sure she is okay. She likes to sit with me while I am feeding her and says "baby milk"? It is very cute!!! Here is just one picture of our family from the hospital. Kylee is now a week old and is doing great! She lifts her neck and can hold it up for a few seconds at a time. She sleeps good during the night only waking up a couple of times to eat and goes back to sleep. Kylee loves to be snuggled and swaddled unlike Olivia. Olivia did like to snuggle but refused to be swaddled! She of course looks just like her big sister did which I guess means both of our girls look like their daddy. I hope to keep up with the blog weekly but we will see how that goes. I am so excited and thankful to be able to stay at home with our girls! It is such a blessing and Chris has been such a great supporter of it which is amazing! We are 3 very lucky girls!!!
